Quake 4 Web site live

Over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, Activision, id Software, and Raven Software launched the Web site for the eagerly anticipated shooter Quake 4. Despite having a professional polish, Quake4game.com is still largely a teaser site.

Besides showing off pictures of a Strogg warrior, a mech, and the game's hero, the space marine Matthew Kane, the site offers only a brief synopsis of Quake 4's story and the game's first trailer, which is also viewable below. It also lets visitors register for updates on the game, which is currently set for release on the Xbox 360 and PC this coming holiday season.

Like the Web home of fellow id-created-shooter Doom 3, the Quake 4 site prompts each visitor to enter his or her age before he or she can view any of its content. This is despite the fact that the game is currently unrated, although its violent content all but guarantees the ESRB will slap it with an M for Mature label.
