Electronic Arts is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Need for Speed franchise not with the traditional tin, but with a darker black. The company announced that a Need for Speed Most Wanted Black Edition will be released this November for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. No pricing information has been released yet.
The collector's edition will include several goodies for street racing fanatics. In addition to featuring some exclusive tricked-out cars and races, a bonus DVD will feature videos, concept art, and behind-the-scenes footage of Josie Maran (The Aviator, Van Helsing), who was kind enough to lend her easy-on-the-eyes likeness and voice to the game.
In Need for Speed Most Wanted, gamers drive high-powered autos in illegal street races, earning respect and moolah while evading cops. A new speed-breaker feature lets racers slow down time for a few moments, giving them improved handling and a better chance to evade the pursuing black and whites. Familiar multiplayer and single-player race modes return, as well as all the car-tuning action and threat of losing a car to another racer or a police auction lot.
The T for Teen-rated game will be released next month in a standard edition on the Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, GameCube, PC, DS, PSP, Game Boy Advance, and Mobile.
