Earth 2160 ships to stores

Midway's offering gamers a peek at the future with Earth 2160 on the PC, now shipping to US stores, and calling the Earth's future bleak might be an understatement.

For one thing, as players of Earth 2150, the game's predecessor, might know, there is no Earth in the year 2160. Now the three surviving human factions from Earth 2150 have all launched colonization efforts on Mars, and they're not about to kiss and make up just because their last home planet was destroyed. Unfortunately, in revisiting their grudges from Earth, the factions have awakened an alien race imprisoned within the planet, and it turns out the red planet isn't big enough for the four of them.

Earth 2160 was developed by Poland-based studio Reality Pump, with a previous body of work that includes the real-time strategy games World War III: Black Gold and Once Upon a Knight. Earth 2160 is rated T for Teen and retails for $49.99.
