Penny Arcade's annual fundraiser goes global in its third year, helping more than 20 hospitals across the US, Canada, and UK.
Penny Arcade creators Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins have tallied up the take for this year's Child's Play Charity drive, and with days left to go, the campaign had raised $420,000 in cash and contributions for children's hospitals in the US, Canada, and UK. The Child's Play campaign started in 2003 after negative media coverage had inspired the pair to do something positive in the name of games. It started as a charity drive to provide patients at the Seattle Children's Hospital with games, toys, and other diversions to lift their spirits, but the response it received inspired Krahulik and Holkins to expand the beneficiaries of their efforts. This year's campaign is going to help children at more than 20 hospitals. For more information on the drive, check out the Official WebSite.
