2K Games picks up Ford Racing 3

2K Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Empire Interactive to publish Ford Racing 3, set for release on March 22 on the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 2. The previous two titles in the Ford Racing series were published by Take-Two.

Ford Racing 3 puts gamers behind the wheel of 55 different vehicles manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. The lineup includes cars from Ford's past, present, and future--think '68 Mustang, F-150 pickup, and EX Concept off-road buggy, and more. The game has an arcade flavor to it, and will feature various game modes such as boost, elimination, and tug-of-war.

Drivers looking to take their game online against others will be able to--albeit only on the Xbox and PC versions, via Xbox Live and online play, respectively. The PC version will support LAN play, and gamers can compete in head-to-head split-screen play on the PS2 and Xbox.

This is the latest title that new publisher 2K Games has stacked in its garage. Formed only late last January, 2K Games has already claimed the rights to Civilization IV, Elder Scrolls IV, the World Poker Tour license, and more.

Ford Racing 3 is rated "E" for Everyone and will carry the budget price tag of $14.99.
